About
I often tell our two boys how lucky they are to live in Taos Ski Valley. I grew up on the East Coast – and trust me, skiing in the rain at Greek Peak while I was in college at Cornell led to a serious appreciation of the Rockies. While I was a PhD student in London 25 years ago, I joined my advisor on a sabbatical at Los Alamos National Laboratory, and I became a victim of the Land of Entrapment – I’ve been in NM and skiing in Taos ever since.
I’ve been a scientist at Los Alamos for my entire career, performing research on energy and climate issues. I’ve led large national R&D programs tasked with solving complex problems. In these roles, I’ve had to develop long-range strategic plans, get those plans supported by the government, and ultimately implement them with a diverse set of team members and stakeholders. This has been rewarding work, and I also believe that the skills I have developed will serve me well as mayor of TSV.
Kate and I were fortunate enough to purchase an original TSV cabin in the winter of 2015-2016 after skiing in Taos since 1999. We love it here and feel very fortunate to be able to raise our sons in such a special place.
